In the mid-80's, a number of railroad's preferred to lease intermodal equipment in case this newfangled Double Stack trend didn't pan out. Greenbrier leased out numerous cars in this paint scheme but with their own reporting marks (GBRX, see deLuxe releases 151201and 151202.) As the leases expired and orders for Gunderson Twinstacks exploded, Greenbrier (who own Gunderson) sold most of the lease fleet to Southern Pacific and Burlington Northern. Rather than repainting the entire car, only the road numbers were changed and the cars were rushed back into service. This is a limited run and just one road number each for BN and SP to be available.
