War Of The Worlds is the patriarch of alien invasion stories. Written by H.G. Wells in 1898(!) the novel has been published in countless editions, filmed several times, and now reproduced on the side of a trio of wood chip gondolas! Like the films before it, this 180' long mural bears only a passing resemblance to the original story (which took place in Nineteenth Century England.) These Martians look like a cross between a shopping mall trash can and a quality vacuum cleaner! The troops are putting up a good fight but things look a bit grim on the middle car. The third car carries a hint of the ultimate downfall of the Martian invaders (sniffle.) The three hapless victims bearing the burden of telling this story are: a flat side Santa Fe chip gon, a shallow rib WVCX (WestVaco Paper) chip gon, and flat side Golden West Service chip gon. Each retains their proper paint schemes on the other side. As an added bonus, you can change the outcome of the story by doing a little yard switching! It goes without saying that this is a very special release. Each shrink wrapped 3-pack has a full-color wraparound sheet with photos of the cars.
