Schneider National is the largest trucking line in America. The bright orange trailers of this Wisconsin based carrier can be seen in every corner of the Continental U.S. Although they roster shorter pup trailers and a significant fleet of flat beds, the lions share of the Schneider fleet has been 53' Plate Wall trailers. When Wabash National introduced a RoadRailer edition of the 53' Plate Wall trailer, Schneider signed up. The Schneider train initially ran the I-5 Corridor between the Los Angeles area and Portland. Trains were also run between Los Angeles and Chicago. As traffic ebbed and flowed, most of these trailers worked the general pool, often riding flats and spine cars or running long distance on the highways. Since the paint scheme for the Schneider RoadRailer trailers is the same as the standard highway trailers they often toiled in anonymity with few realizing they led a double life as a rail car. The nose has the Schneider National logo and road number (vertically on the corner post) and the back door has the company logo, "Caution Wide Right Turn" sticker, and "We Hire Safe Drivers" sticker.
Like our Triple Crown and Swift runs, the deLuxe Schneider National RoadRailer trailer run will be released as two different 10 packs and a single for a total of 21 different road numbers. Like the prototypes, deLuxe RoadRailer trailers can "dismount" from their rail wheels and be used like regular trailers: parked at the truck dock, behind a semi-tractor, on a flat car, or on a spine car. Both 10 packs include a CouplerMate rail bogie mounted on one of the trailers so you are ready for the rails.
