Great Northern certainly had one of the most colorful freight car fleets around. This was due in part to their overlapping color standards used over the years. Vermillion first appeared in the mid-50's and would continue until 1967 when sky blue took over. During that period, mineral red and glacier green (after 1960) were also applied to box cars. This run features two lettering styles. Three of the six road numbers have "Empire Builder" style lettering (seen here) while the other three have "Slant Serif" style lettering.

These cars are equipped with Micro-Trains Line trucks and couplers.
