In the storied existence of Amtrak's mail, express and cargo service, their fleet of 53' Plate Wall RoadRailer trailers have appeared in at least 5 different paints schemes (and rumors of others persist!) This release features the "Amtrak Mail & Express" version and the "American Flag" version. Both versions appeared on trailers leased from Wabash National (the builder.) The diamond shaped logo, obviously an homage to Railway Express Agency, was applied to trailers assigned to US Mail and express package service (as opposed to trailers assigned to truckload service.) The logos adorned both sides and the right door of these trailers. Little is known of the "American Flag" paint scheme other than the flag was applied near the door end on both sides and they seemed to first appear following the attacks of 9/11. This 5-pack contains 3 of the "Mail & Express" trailers and 2 of the "American Flag" trailers, plus 2 CouplerMate rail bogies. Like our popular Santa Fe 5-pack, this set is packaged in our "Twinstack" style box with the CouplerMate bogies factory installed on the front and rear trailer. Five different road numbers are included.
